1958 - Jerry Lee Lewis was booed off the stage in England, two days after announcing his marriage to cousin Myra (his British tour ended).

Lenny made his UK live debut at London's Borderline Club in 1989. 1990 single Let Love Rule, 1993 UK No.1 & US No.12 album Are You Gonna Go My Way, 1993 UK No.4 single Are You Gonna Go My Way, 1999 UK No.1 single Fly Away. Lenny has toured with Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and The Cult.

He met his future wife actress Lisa Bonet in 1989 at a New Edition gig. Lenny co-wrote Madonna's world-wide No.1 single Justify My Love. Lenny won Best video at the 1993 MTV awards for Are You Gonna Go My Way, best international male artist at the 1994 Brit awards and best male rock performance for Fly Away at the 1999 Grammy awards.

1967 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, by The Beatles, was released. It took the Fab Four only 12 hours to record their first album, Please, Please Me. It took the supergroup 700 hours to complete Sgt. Pepper's.

1969 - Beatle John Lennon and his partner Yoko Ono began an eight day 'bed-in' for world peace in room 1742 of The Hotel La Reine Elizabeth, Montreal, Canada

1974 - Tragedy struck at a David Cassidy concert at London's White City when over 1,000 fans had to be treated by first aid workers due to the frenzied excitement, and one fan Bernadette Whelan died from heart failure four days later.

1984 - Former backing singer with Stevie Wonder, Denience Williams started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with Let's Hear It For The Boy, taken from the film Footloose. It was a No.2 hit in the UK.

1990 - David Bowie was sued by his ex wife Angie for $56 million.

1990 - For the first time ever the top five positions in the US singles chart were held by female artists, Madonna was at No.1 with Vogue, Heart were at No.2, Sinead O'Connor was at No.3, Wilson Phillips were No.4 and Janet Jackson was at No.5.

1994 - Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley were married in the Dominican Republic. (The marriage ended in 1996.)

1996 - A fire at the home of Eric Clapton caused over one and a half million pounds worth of damage, firemen arrived on the scene to find Clapton braving the blaze to save his collection of guitars.

2000 - Tommy Lee was jailed for five days for drinking alcohol. Lee appeared in front of a Los Angeles court charged with violating his probation by consuming alcohol, an act that directly contravened the terms of his parole.

2002 - The first episode of At Home With The Osbournes was shown on MTV in the UK.
