POP/ROCKBILLY RAY COUGAR
Billy Ray Cougar is a good ol country boy at heart who grew up listening to and loving the sounds of the American Mid-West. "My dad liked to party to Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac and John Mellencamp while mom would do the housework on a Saturday morning with Neil Diamond "Hot August Night" or The Eagles blaring on the stereo. So these are some of the strongest memories I have of the influences that would capture my imagination", say's Billy Ray. "I've always been drawn to guitar playing story tellers, performers who write a good yarn and put it together with an unforgettable melody." Billy Ray plays an electric Fender Stratocaster and compliments his singing with full sounding backing tracks. His catalogue of songs enable him to truly capture the moment of the event he is playing and range from tender love songs that you can sit back mellow out too or pop/rock songs guaranteed to get the party buzzing. "Being a solo performer I don't have to make compromises on the material I choose to play. I'm incredibly passionate about the songs and I've been around long enough to know what works." Billy Ray's favourite TV program is "The Dukes of Hazzard", he'd love to visit Graceland and sit with the King and he dreams of one day earning enough from playing gigs to own a 1967 Fastback Mustang.
