We have featured BIG PICNIC twice now at our Mackenzie Summer Salmon & Wine Festival here in Twizel. The first time they were great, the second time, they were fantastic! With the latest addition of the swing set, OJ wowed the audience and got the town’s folk up and dancing on a hot summer day. From the first time OJ himself was involved in our festival as a radio DJ, he totally stepped up when we had trouble with our sound system. He jumped in with his own gear, and quite frankly, saved the day! He is the consummate professional, allowing us as organisers to get on with all the other aspects of the day in complete confidence that he would deliver the goods.

The Band look good, the songs are great, the vibe is exciting and at the end of the day, everyone is still talking about the music… When someone tells you they are doing a Robbie Williams set, it could really go either way… Our visitors couldn’t stop talking about the suave, suited guy who bashed out songs like Sinatra himself – OJ, a musical dynamo – very impressive!

What makes these guys really great is the ability to get on with the job. It’s hot outside, there’s so much going on, and yet they can entrance an audience. There’s something for anyone with a bit of musical taste and BIG PICNIC will get you bopping along.

Thanks to these guys it will always be an event to remember!

South Island Masters Games - Timaru

I have been really impressed with the development of OJ and his band Big Picnic. We’ve used OJ a number of times for events and he is just a superb entertainer.

I especially like his solo swing routines – very slick and professional and perfect for creating atmosphere. It makes you want to listen.

Big Picnic is ideal for a livelier party atmosphere; we used them for the Dancing with the Masters night at the South Island Masters Games in Timaru – a fantastic night.

We’ll certainly be using OJ again; in fact we have him booked for one of our next corporate functions.

Waimate Strawberry Fare / Busking Festival 2006

First heard OJ and the Big Picnic at the Timaru Festival of Roses and loved his rhythm and soul! When the opportunity came to engage an opening act for the South Canterbury Busking Festival I knew he would be perfect and he was. So good in fact that we have booked him for Waimate’s Strawberry Fare to be held in December.

His musical versatility and style is very easy on the ear (and eye!). OJ is definitely an asset to any event.

Having Big Picnic play at our wedding made our special day that much more ‘special’.
